Our Sculpting Process
Each of our sculptures begins as a lump of clay that is carefully brought to life by our small family team of sculptors.
We then make a mold and cast each bas-relief individually from the mold.
After the casting material has cured, we mount the piece on a three-dimensional box or a plaque made of the same material.
Every piece is then individually hand-finished with a wide range of pigments and patinas to give it depth and character.
Each of the molding and casting products used in our sculptures are made of proprietary products that are non-toxic and environmentally benign. We also re-use or recycle almost all of our materials so you can be assured that our products and process are as "green" as possible.
No two Starlight Sculpture Works pieces are ever alike. Irregularities in texture and variations in the finish are proof that our sculptures are handmade especially for you!
